The album she released first, "The Fame", was released in 2008 to a lack of media attention. Gaga went on tour in Europe as well as the US to promote the album. But it was not until Gaga made her debut with her hit song, "Just Dance", that mainstream attention began get to the industry. Gaga was suffering from a labral tear on her right leg. she had been secretly nursing for several weeks to ensure she was able to continue the tour. She was left unable to walk after a concert in Toronto and was in severe pain. The tour was stopped.
