Amanda Brugel

Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire, a quiet area in The West Island of Montreal is the home of a variety of small businesses. People unfamiliar with the term tend to think it's a separate island off the coast of Montreal However, the West Island is home to every aspect of the city of Lachine west. It is often cited as the place of birth for Amanda Brugel, but while this is the case however, her time there was not long. Brugel began her life in Courtice close to Oshawa. Her first ambition was to become a professional dancer but her growing years meant that she literally outgrew the dancers she was with. In a piece in the Toronto Star she admitted, "In heels I'm 6'1 inch. After I grew beyond the male colleagues I had been working with, I quit. A lot of former dancers go on into acting. In the case of Brugel it was the nudge of an instructor in drama at high school that led her into the correct direction. The teacher who suggested she take on a part in the annual school production. The teacher suggested she attempt to play a part in the school's annual production. She ended up being cast as Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Award at York University led her to the Theatre Program where she graduated in 2000 with a bachelor of master of fine arts.
